About Dr. Adelman

Dr. Adelman is the Frank Veith, MD Professor, and Chief Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at New York University Langone Medical Center. He joined the faculty in 1987 and is now a Tenured Professor in the NYU Langone School of Medicine.

Dr. Adelman's clinical interests include carotid artery disease, venous pathology, and endovascular treatment of aortic aneurysms. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed publications, and is well known nationally and internationally for his academic accomplishments. He has been an invited lecturer globally including Argentina, Austria, China, England, France, Italy, South Korea, and Switzerland.

After serving as an investigator in the first clinical trial in the United States in aortic endografting, he has been a Principal Investigator in several other endovascular device trials, helping to define a minimally invasive solution to aortic disease. In all, Dr. Adelman has served as investigator in over 30 clinical trials and holds 3 U.S. and international patents for surgical instruments. He has twice been the first surgeon to implant a new endovascular device into a human after FDA approval. Dr. Adelman has appeared on "Good Morning America" with Diane Sawyer and "The Today Show" with Katie Couric, where he discussed advances in venous surgery techniques. He is annually recognized to be one of New York's best physicians in publications including New York Magazine and Castle Connolly's America's Top Doctors.

Dr. Adelman has served as President of the NYU Langone School of Medicine faculty, and is now a Faculty Senator at the University. He has been President of both The New York Society for Vascular Surgery, and the Association of International Vascular Surgery.
