She completed her Surgical Residency and Fellowship in Vascular Surgery at New York University Medical School, and has been on the surgical faculty since completing her fellowship in 1996.
Dr. Rockman is extremely well-published in many areas of vascular surgery, including carotid artery surgery and endovascular aortic aneurysm treatment. She has published over 40 peer-reviewed original publications, as well as, at least 10 textbook chapters. Her work has been presented at multiple national meetings, and has won a variety of regional and national awards and recognitions. Her work has also demonstrated particular interest in the outcomes of vascular surgical procedures in women. She is an active member of all major national vascular surgery societies, and has chaired, as well as, served on a number of national society committees.
Clinically, Dr. Rockman is active in all areas of general vascular surgery management and treatment. She has particular interests in carotid artery endarterectomy, carotid artery angioplasty and stenting, lower extremity arterial disease and management for poor circulation in the legs, aortic aneurysm surgery, as well as the treatment of other unusual vascular disorders. Dr. Rockman has also been active in the expansion of newer minimally invasive varicose vein procedures at New York University Medical Center. Although active in treating all patients with vascular disease, Dr. Rockman has also served as a primary vascular surgeon for female patients with vascular disease who desire treatment by a female physician.
